Aristide Tarnagda takes over as Récréâtrales's new director

The festival of Récréâtrales, a biannual event dedicated to the performing arts, will take place in October-November in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. 2018 marks the tenth edition, which will have as its central theme "Braiding Courage", as well as the handover of the festival's reins to a new director: Aristide Tarnagda.

Burkinabe creator, author and director, Aristide Tarnagda knows all the ins and outs of the world. Récréâtrales for many years and has never missed an edition. Several pieces he has worked on have also been presented there.

Met at MASA, the Abidjan Performing Arts Market, The new director of the Récréâtrales festival tells us more about himself, his new role, and his vision for the festival. He wants to provide more support for young artists by developing co-productions with other festivals. He also wants to make the Récréâtrales more pan-African and ensure that Africa becomes a hub for the circulation of African plays.
