COPRODAC is a recent platform that gathers organisations and production companies from public and private sectors but also from civil society for the development of the audiovisual and film industry in Burundi.

The organisation gathers various Burundian cultural actors that aim to professionalise their sector and take part in the development of the cultural economy. Based in Bujumbura the association promotes the audiovisual industry in Burundi, through coordination, mobilization, guidance, organization and structuring.

Moreover COPRODAC strives to strengthen the skills of the actors involved, through the implementation of a training scheme covering technical, artistic and management issues; to diversify and to increase the sector’s financial resources; improving the access of professionals to high-quality equipment and to  facilitate public access to audiovisual and film productions.

Programme 2015-2016: Africalia supports COPRODAC in its institutional development, in strengthening administrative and financial management skills ; to promote advocacy skills of the platform so that the government takes in consideration the needs of the sector on the agenda ; technical  (sound, image…) and artistic (writing, directing …) training courses ; cultural decentralisation through the establishment of a CNA-Burundi with the help of CNA-Afrique, one of Africalia’s partner.
