The Hot Sun Foundation has been working in partnership with Africalia since December 2008.
It trains young people in filmmaking as scriptwriters, actors, directors, location scouts, set designers, camera operators, sound engineers, editors and promoters. The Foundation produces films of the highest artistic quality that bring to life the stories these young people want to tell us.
Hot Sun focuses on discovering new talent among young people in the slums and other marginalised communities of East Africa. Located in Kibera, one of Africa's largest slums and home to over a million of Nairobi's residents, this partner works towards social transformation through the arts and media.
2012-2014 programme: Africalia is contributing towards the costs of the supervisory staff and the expenses associated with their main activities, such as the Kibera Film School, Kibera TV, the Slum Film Festival and other related training activities.
