"50 portraits, 50 stories of transmission" by the Artfusion association, Cécile Quenum, Nicole Letuppe and Ukeye

This project is a reflection on the heritage, memory and identity of 50 Belgians who were born and grew up in a post-colonial context, whose parents and grandparents were born and lived in Africa and from whom they have inherited rituals, songs, images and memories. The project will also involve 2 secondary schools, where the project will be explained to pupils who will then ask 50 questions to which the 50 people photographed will respond. This will lead to the creation of a mobile interactive fresco of 50 photos of these Belgians, each with a QR code that will allow passers-by to find out the name, story, answer to 1 question and an element of heritage (song, tale) of each character. The jury particularly appreciated the innovative nature of this project, which combines art and education.

"ọkụ: Mettre en lumière nos lumières" by the Collectif Mémoire Coloniale et Lutte contre les Discriminations, Florence Akyams, Agnes Kena and the Friends of the Collectif Mémoire Coloniale et Lutte contre les Discriminations

The aim of this photo exhibition project is to highlight the African women who fought and resisted before us for their freedom and emancipation, as well as those of the African continent, and who shed light on our struggle today. The jury was impressed by the project's inter-generational and inter-continental approach to transmission.

"Generational richness" from podcast production company CLNK

The aim of this podcast project is to shed light on little-known stories told by 1st generation Afrodescendants and immigrants, to reveal stories that highlight the value of this population and to give a voice to our elders, while confronting them with the next generations. The jury was convinced by this project, whose theme ties in perfectly with the theme of our appeal and which, through its existence, will become an invaluable source of archives and therefore of heritage.

"Koko, raconte-nous! by the Manguier en Fleurs association

The show will feature portraits of 12 women over 70 born in the Congo. The aim is to put these women at the centre of artistic creation and make them the main, rather than accessory, players in the transmission of knowledge through an innovative combination of the arts of Kàsàlà and multidisciplinary theatre: speech, song, music, dance and set design. The participatory methodology of this project convinced our jury.

"Nos errances" by production company Rumbacom

Sorana Munsya follows the impressive career of Clémentine Faïk-Nzuji, a philologist, ethnolinguist, symbologist and researcher in the fundamental languages and cultures of Black Africa. She will place this tutelary figure alongside other Afro-feminine characters, each of whom will enter into a dialogue with the researcher, thus putting her story in tension with the contemporary challenges facing women of African origin in Belgium. The jury appreciated the fact that this project dares to rethink the very notion of ancestry and heritage, while highlighting the important work of Clémentine Faïk-Nzuji.

"The cultural heritage of Black Africa at the service of young LGBTQIA+ people" by the CIPROC association

This audiovisual and poetic project aims to put an end to the opposition between 'African cultures' and LGBTQIA+ identities by giving young people from diasporas the opportunity to explore their heritage, (re)appropriate it, transform it and pass it on in the form of audiovisual and poetic artistic works. The jury appreciated the subject of this project, young LGBTQIA+ Afrodescendants, and its decolonial approach.
