Faced with a global health crisis, particularly affecting the cultural sector, Africalia supports artists in their creative dynamic by setting up the CREATIVITY IS LIFE SCHOLARSHIPS.

This one-off response should make it possible to supporting the emergence of artistic works whether during, in response to or following this period of crisis. This project aims to give a voice and a framework for expression to artists from a variety of backgrounds, with a particular focus on works by emerging artists, with a view to making 'visible' and 'audible' cultural players who receive little attention and are often overlooked. particularly exposed to this crisis.

This time of confinement, a period without cultural events, can also be an opportunity to find other ways and means of enabling artists to continue to create. The scholarships Creativity is Life support a form of "creative residency".
These scholarships are designed to support artists in an emergency situation and allow them to focus on the creative process rather than their day-to-day survival. Africalia wishes to support a a constructive, positive dynamic and resolutely looking to the future.

L'Africalia's objective is to allocate between 30 to 50 grants with a contribution from 1,500 per artistin the countries where it operates: Burkina Faso, Senegal, Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda, Kenya, Zimbabwe and Uganda.
