Call for proposals 2018: co-creation of tools for Global Citizenship and Solidarity Education in Belgium

Africalia launches a call for proposals which aims to arouse a reflection on Education for Global and Solidarity Citizenship (ECMS) applied to the arts and culture sector in Belgium. These proposals will pay specific attention to cultural crossbreeding and aim to highlight contemporary creations by artists from the sub-Saharan African diasporas / Afro-descendants. Africalia is convinced that the concept of 'hybridity/miscegenation' today goes beyond questions of identity and extends to a multitude of fields such as citizenship, and that it refers to a heterogeneous reconfiguration of spaces, political organisations and our societies. The artistic proposal(s) selected is (are) intended to become a tool(s) for raising awareness of the role of the arts and culture in denouncing societal dysfunction, tackling global issues and thinking about ways of reinventing our societies creatively and artistically.
