Panel 2 Le Forum Culturel x Africalia: Cultural mobility

Every second Saturday of the month, from March to September 2025, from 10:00 to 11:15 GMT, Africalia and Le Forum Culturel invite three cultural sector stakeholders to explore current themes related to the development of CCIs. The second session is entitled 'La mobilité culturelle, pourquoi et comment ?' (Cultural mobility, why and how?) and will be held in French.

The panel will be broadcast online on Africalia's Facebook page and available to watch on Facebook and YouTube in replay. The audience will be able to ask the experts questions in real time.

The theme

Mobility is a perennial challenge, yet essential for every artist and cultural operator. This panel will examine the reasons for cultural mobility, as well as some useful pathways to success when looking to travel. Through the speakers' testimonies and shared experiences, we will explore different approaches to mobility and highlight how it can contribute to the growth of the African creative ecosystem.

The panelists

Current General Manager of MASA, Abdramane Kamate (Ivory Coast and France) began his career at the Centre culturel français in Abidjan, where he was in charge of artistic and cinematographic projects. He went on to lead various cultural institutions in several countries, before taking charge of the ACP-EU Culture program for West Africa in 2021. In parallel with these functions, he contributed as an expert to the development and evaluation of various cultural and artistic programs in Africa and acts as an international trainer in the field of the CCIs.

Ouafa Belgacem (Tunisia) is the CEO and co-founder of Culture Funding Watch. As expert and trainer in resource mobilisation for the CCIs, she connects creatives with their backers and helps artist to understand and find information on resource mobilisation.

Pierre Claver Mabiala (Congo-Brazzaville), actor, director and cultural operator, is the initiator of several major cultural projects in Congo. Director of the Espace Culturel YARO, director of the Festival N'sangu Ndji-Ndji from 2005 to 2024, President of Arterial Network Continental from 2019 to 2021, and Executive Secretary of the African Music Council (CAM) since April 2024, he is deeply involved in several collaborations with cultural organisations in Africa and Europe. He is a trainer and consultant in cultural administration and management.

The moderator

Jeanne Ngo Nlend (Cameroon) is a cultural journalist, African art critic, and web journalist. She is head of the French-language desk at Crtvweb and Secretary General of the Network of Cultural Journalists of Cameroon.
