CALL FOR FILMS – FESPACO 2025

As part of the 29^e planned edition of February 22 to 1^er March 2025, FESPACO informs cinema and audiovisual professionals that registrations for the official selection of films are open from February 29 to September 30, 2024.

The selection includes two main sections:

1. The official competition section reserved for films by African and diaspora directors with the following categories:
2. feature-length fiction: minimum duration of 60 minutes;
3. feature-length documentary: minimum duration of 60 minutes;
4. FESPACO Shorts (short fiction and documentary): duration between 1 min and 35 min;
5. fiction or documentary from film schools: duration between 3 minutes and 15 minutes;
6. FESPACO Series: two (02) consecutive episodes of 52 minutes each or three (03) consecutive episodes of 26 minutes each or six (06) consecutive episodes of 13 minutes each;
7. animated films: duration between 1 min and 35 mins.

• The out-of-competition section open to films by filmmakers from around the world:
• Panorama
• Focus on diversity
• Sukabè (youth program)

Eligibility Criteria

• Not be more than two (02) years old as of December 31, 2024;
• Not having been presented during a previous edition of FESPACO;
• Not having been screened in Burkina Faso.

Any registration for the selection is made by clicking and implies full acceptance of the registration conditions and the regulations of the 29^e editing.

Registration is subject to payment of registration fees which amount to fifty (50) Euros.

NB : the deadline for registrations is set as of September 30, 2024.
