In the framework of the Jeunesse Créative project, an initiative of Enabel in the DRC, Africalia is implementing a training programme for young singers in Mbuji-Mayi. The auditions of the music programme were held on July 10th and 11th 2025. At this key moment, we identified 10 promising young singers who will benefit from intensive training to further develop their artistic careers.

Auditions and selection
Following a call for applications in June 2025, 28 singers were preselected. 26 of them took part in the auditions, held at the premises of Radelkor, our local partner for the implementation of the project.
The selection process was conducted by an expert jury, composed of leading figures from the African music sector: Saintrick Mayitoukou (artist, producer and arranger, Senegal), Gabriel Wadigesila (multi-instrumentalist, singer songwriter and arranger, DRC), and Mardoché Kadiayi Tshilumba (cultural actor in Mbuji-Mayi, DRC). During two days filled with emotions and artistic discoveries, the jury members carefully evaluated the candidates’ performances.

Collective album
Following the auditions, 10 young artists were selected to take part in the programme. They will begin their first training session in August 2025, kicking off an ambitious and promising artistic adventure. At the end of the programme implemented by Africalia and Radelkor, a collective album will be produced, an opportunity for the singers to showcase their music far beyond local borders.
