PANSA is a network that brings together various players and operators in the South African performing arts (dance, music, theatre, opera, etc). Africalia works in partnership with the organisation's national headquarters in Cape Town and collaborates with the provincial offices through this office.

As a key representative of the performing arts, PANSA organises training courses, defends its members' interests with politicians and the private sector, and relays information of interest to its members.

PANSA is keen to strengthen its position by increasing the number of members, consolidating the operation of provincial offices, creating jobs and organising specific training courses. PANSA, like VANSAIt offers 45 internship places lasting between six months and a year, and has set up an internship programme for Previously Disadvantaged Individuals (PDIs) to give them access to work experience in one of the regional offices or in a member organisation of the network.

In 2014, the PANSA office in the Eastern Cape province launched the pilot project " Youth Theatre Project "A training course for young people on all aspects of theatre. In all, around a hundred young people have benefited. The project has been meticulously documented in a toolkit so that the training can also be given in other provinces. Download here the PANSA Youth Theatre Project toolkit (in English).

Programme 2015-2016 Africalia: Africalia contributes to the costs of management staff, supports training courses and activities and aims to strengthen the associative, administrative and financial management of provincial offices.
