The Short CaravanThis is a travelling cinema offering in 'remote' areas, stopping off every day in a different small town or village to meet local audiences. This joint initiative by FIFF and Clap ! Office for film shoots takes place in the provinces of Namur, Luxembourg and Liège. As well as showcasing short films and young talent, the Caravan makes cultural events more accessible to audiences who don't always have access to screenings at specialist cinemas in larger towns. The 'Caravan' includes evening screenings for the general public, as well as screenings for school audiences, giving schoolchildren the chance not only to meet the filmmakers, but also to be confronted with the criticisms, desires and needs of tomorrow's cinema-goers.

For the first time this year, and in collaboration with Africalia, the Caravan is hosting a Southern programme with 2 short films:

- "Already at night by Youssef Nathan Michraf (Morocco/France - Fiction - 18 min): Twenty-six-year-old Hajar is in France for a few days with her husband, a sixty-five-year-old businessman. Her unhappiness in the relationship leads her to suddenly leave a dinner party and wander the city to take control of her life. In the Province of Namur, from 26 February to 2 March (download flyer for details) - "Mama Bobo by Robin Andelfinger and Ibrahima Seydi (Belgium/Senegal - Fiction - 16 min): Mama Bobo, 83, has been a widow for many years. Every morning, she sits at the bus stop on rue Gomis and dreams of her husband. Her daily life is turned upside down when her bus shelter is removed to make way for roadworks. Her family and neighbours will do everything they can to help her get back on her feet before it's too late. In the Province of Liège, from 13 to 16 March (download flyer for details)
