From her adolescence in the midst of apartheid, the South African choreographer has preserved memories whose power remains vivid, in particular of these rickshaws, small handcars pulled by black people and transporting white teachers. With their multicolored tunics and their headdresses adorned with cow horns, a sign of power but also of servitude, these men transformed into beasts of burden \u201cseemed to dance, their bodies suspended in the air\u201d.<\/p>\n

Robyn Orlin then invents the rickshaw dance in this show that is as flamboyant as it is moving! The ten artists take the public into a dance and song celebration which expresses so well their joy of living in this \u201cWheel of Pride\u201d, which has become a force of resistance, and thus pay homage to the spirit of the Rainbow Nation.
