{"id":15785,"date":"2020-06-10T09:43:00","date_gmt":"2020-06-10T09:43:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/africalia.be\/?p=15785"},"modified":"2023-11-14T10:06:02","modified_gmt":"2023-11-14T10:06:02","slug":"creativity-is-life-scholarships","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/africalia.be\/en\/bourses-creativity-is-life\/","title":{"rendered":"Creativity is Life\" scholarships"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Faced with a global health crisis, particularly affecting the cultural sector,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/africalia.be\/wp-admin\/856\">Africalia<\/a>&nbsp;supports artists in their creative dynamic by setting up the&nbsp;<strong>CREATIVITY IS LIFE SCHOLARSHIPS<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This one-off response should make it possible to&nbsp;<strong>supporting the emergence of artistic works<\/strong>&nbsp;whether during, in response to or following this period of crisis. This project aims to give a voice and a framework for expression to artists from a variety of backgrounds, with a particular focus on works by emerging artists, with a view to making 'visible' and 'audible' cultural players who receive little attention and are often overlooked.&nbsp;<strong>particularly exposed to this crisis.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This time of confinement, a period without cultural events, can also be an opportunity to find other ways and means of enabling artists to continue to create. The&nbsp;<strong>scholarships&nbsp;<em>Creativity is Life<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;support a form of&nbsp;<strong>\"creative residency\".<\/strong><br>These scholarships are designed to support&nbsp;<strong>artists in an emergency situation<\/strong>&nbsp;and allow them to focus on the creative process rather than their day-to-day survival.&nbsp;<strong>Africalia<\/strong>&nbsp;wishes to support a&nbsp;<strong>a constructive, positive dynamic<\/strong>&nbsp;and resolutely&nbsp;<strong>looking to the future.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L'<strong>Africalia's objective<\/strong>&nbsp;is to allocate between&nbsp;<strong>30 to 50 grants<\/strong>&nbsp;with a contribution from&nbsp;<strong>1,500 per artist<\/strong>in the countries where it operates:&nbsp;<strong>Burkina Faso, Senegal, Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda, Kenya, Zimbabwe and Uganda<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Find out more about
