{"id":14480,"date":"2020-12-17T14:43:19","date_gmt":"2020-12-17T14:43:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/africalia.be\/decouvrez-les-challenges-accomplis-par-les-laureats-de-l-appel-2019-nl\/"},"modified":"2023-08-01T18:01:17","modified_gmt":"2023-08-01T18:01:17","slug":"discover-the-challenges-faced-by-the-winners-of-the-2019-nl-call-for-entries","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/africalia.be\/en\/decouvrez-les-challenges-accomplis-par-les-laureats-de-l-appel-2019-nl\/","title":{"rendered":"Discover the challenges faced by the winners of the 2019 call for entries"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Photo: Who We Are show by Transe en Danse<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<h2>Publieke Acties vzw : Being Imposed Upon<\/h2>\n<p>The Dutch-speaking Asbl <a href=\"http:\/\/www.publiekeacties.org\/nl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Publieke Acties<\/a> published his book <strong>Being Imposed Upon<\/strong> which she describes as <em>\"A love letter and a manual for black women.<\/em> It is a collection of reflections on being a black woman in Belgium. <\/p>\n<p>These magnificent texts, so early poetic, so early militant, were co-written by a gathering of Black women committed to the following causes <strong>Afrofeminists<\/strong>, <strong>anti-racists<\/strong> and <strong>decolonials<\/strong>To name but a few: Jo\u00eblle Sambi Nzeba, Olave Nduwanje, Emmanuelle Nsunda, Sabrine Ingabire, Aline Bosuma W'Okungu Bakili, Heleen Debeuckelaere, Mireille-Tsheusi Robert, Munganyende H\u00e9l\u00e8ne Christelle, Modi Ntambwe, Emma-Lee Amponsah, Djia Mambu, Shari Aku Legbedje &amp; Anissa Boujdaini, Gia Abrassart, Melat Gebeyaw Nigussie, Anne Wetsi Mpoma, Lisette Ma Neza. The sublime photographs illustrating the texts are by Awa Gaye.<\/p>\n<p>This collection of 272 pages written in <strong>French<\/strong> and in <strong>Dutch<\/strong> will undoubtedly touch you, whether you are a Black Woman or not. <strong>A superb literary experience<\/strong>Being Imposed Upond' is on sale for \u20ac17 on the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.publiekeacties.org\/fr\/home\/being-imposed-upon\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">publieke acties website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-14475\" src=\"https:\/\/africalia.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/sans_titre_11_.png\" alt=\"sans_titre_11_.png\" align=\"insert|center\" width=\"940\" height=\"788\" srcset=\"https:\/\/africalia.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/sans_titre_11_.png 940w, https:\/\/africalia.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/sans_titre_11_-300x251.png 300w, https:\/\/africalia.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/sans_titre_11_-768x644.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 940px) 100vw, 940px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<h2>WARP: Flowering Ethiopia<\/h2>\n<p>As part of the exhibition <strong>Coup de Ville 2020 - Chasing Flowers<\/strong> organised in Saint-Nicolas on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.warp-art.be\/nl\/programma\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">WARP<\/a> intended to invite the ethipian artist, <strong>Ermias Kifleyesus<\/strong>to create new works based on a field study in Ethiopia. Due to Covid, the initial project could not be implemented as it stood. Following the route, which also allowed visitors to tour the town, they could admire works ranging from sculpture to painting and video. <\/p>\n<p>At the end of the route we discover the space reserved for the art of Ermias Kifleyesus, which brings the <strong>icing on the cake<\/strong>. But that's the challenge that the company <a href=\"https:\/\/www.transe-en-danse.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Transe en Danse<\/a> with his show <strong>Who We Are<\/strong> which retraces the journey of <strong>young migrants<\/strong>. We were lucky enough to attend one of the few performances that were possible this year. A big thank you and a big well done for this wonderful project!\"<\/em> says Mounia from AMO Promo-jeunes. <em>\"Thank you for this poignant show ... the part with the little puppets bowling and throwing is particularly violent and terrible! And well done to the actors for the super-powerful dance scenes... And the puppets give a crazy effect! Thank you for continuing to bring art and dance to life... and thank you for the young people that this action certainly helps to bring to life, to give them the courage to carry on.
