Atelier-Graphoui-residence-Frank-Tetshim-Machini<\/figcaption><\/figure>During a previous residency at the studio, Frank Mukunday and T\u00e9tshim made a big impression with their project Machini<\/strong> <\/em>. Their creative strength earned them further residencies from the end of 2017, where they were able to continue and complete their short film project. <\/p>\n

The artists<\/h2>\n

Frank Mutunday is from Lubumbashi, DRC. He has a passion for animated film and works with a number of Congolese animators on various projects. In 2007 he joined forces with T\u00e9tshim, Angelo Nzeka and Tr\u00e9sor Makonga, with whom he still works today.<\/p>\n

T\u00e9tshim was born in Kinshasa. He has been drawing since he was a child. As well as making animated films, he is also an illustrator and cartoonist.<\/p>\n

Frank Mukunday and T\u00e9tshim have been making animated films as self-taught artists since 2010. Starting out by drawing (T\u00e9tshim) and video (Frank), their duo founded the 'Crayon de cuivre' studio in Lubumbashi. After two experimental trials Pebbles<\/em> and Ku Kinga<\/em> (to be found in Africa all short 3<\/a>our collection of short films from all over the continent), Machini<\/em> is their first film made under professional production conditions.<\/p>\n\n
