What do we know about What is the current state of audiovisual production in East Africa? What themes are inspiring the creativity of young authors in Kenya, Uganda, Burundi, Rwanda and Tanzania?
This DVD is the beginning of a response: it includes thirteen films that bear witness to the richness and vitality of a sector in the making, and which, in their own way, ask questions about today's world. Its aim is to showcase excellent work from this region and, above all, to anticipate an audiovisual awakening in a vast area where audiovisual writing is often neglected by the public authorities. The second edition of a collection dedicated to African short films, the programming of this DVD has been the subject of a rigorous and passionate selection, in partnership with various festivals, both Belgian and African, whom we would like to thank.
