In Lubumbashi, the incubation phase of our creative entrepreneurship programme Mozalisi-L\u2019shi<\/a><\/strong> has come to a close. Through this programme, Africalia and Ukamili Digital City<\/a> have supported 14 entrepreneurs to strengthen and structure their businesses. On January 23rd, the participants presented their activities and growth during Demo Day, an important milestone, a reason to celebrate, and the perfect occasion to get to know local partners and investors from Lubumbashi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is Mozalisi-L'shi?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Mozalisi-L'shi is a support programme initiated by Africalia and jointly implemented by Ukamili Digital City. Aimed at entrepreneurs operating in the cultural and creative industries (CCI) in Lubumbashi, the programme seeks to strengthen the entrepreneurial, creative, and economic capacities of cultural project leaders in order to foster viable, structured, and high-impact cultural enterprises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 14 participating entrepreneurs benefited from business and creative industries training modules, group and individual coaching, creative mentoring, and access to industry experts. This interactive and varied approach allowed them to directly connect theory with practice: they improved their skills in formulating, managing, and presenting projects, and further developed their business strategy. At the end of the programme, they are better equipped to position themselves in the creative market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Demo Day<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

On Friday, January 23rd, 2026, the 14 entrepreneurs presented their businesses during Demo Day, marking the end of the Mozalisi-L'shi incubation phase. The event highlighted the essential role of creative entrepreneurship in the prosperity of CCIs. After congratulations from Africalia, the Belgian Consul in Lubumbashi, Ukamili Digital City, and the programme's coaches, the participants received their certificates of completion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To mark this important milestone, we brought together institutional representatives, partners, investors, artists, cultural operators, and other public and private stakeholders. During a mini-market and networking reception, the entrepreneurs presented their products and services and engaged directly with guests, who were thus able to discover the wealth of creative entrepreneurial activity in Lubumbashi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Six entrepreneurs were selected by a jury of experts to receive a grant. This will allow them to further boost their businesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
