Initiated in May 2023, the Kimpa Vita project is supported by the non-profit organization I See You, in collaboration with the non-profit organizations Belgian Entreprenoires and A Free Kam. Following a call for projects from the Belgian federal government, launched as part of the International Decade for People of African Descent proclaimed by the United Nations, I See You wished to honor the memory of the Prophetess Kimpa Vita by renaming a park in her name and erecting a statue of her created in Kinshasa and placed at the entrance to the Park in Couillet.
