The Jeunesse Cr\u00e9ative project,<\/strong> is a centralized intervention led in Kinshasa, DRC by the Belgian bilateral cooperation agency Enabel<\/a>The initiative aims to enhance the potential of young people, both in terms of training and economic integration and socio-cultural development. It constitutes the second part of pillar 1 of the Enabel 2023-2027 strategy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Africalia is implementing a part of the project focused onaccess to culture for young people aged 12 to 35<\/strong>By strengthening the services of cultural operators, the project aims to broaden their access to quality (socio)cultural activities, while enabling better economic integration of those active in the sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our action within the framework of Youth includes a course oftargeted cultural management support for cultural operators<\/strong>, as well as a music project<\/strong> for young artists and capacity building for cultural spaces<\/strong>. Managed from the capital, activities are deployed in four cities: Kinshasa, Kisangani, Lubumbashi and Mbuji-Mayi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Context<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The DRC boasts a rich and creative cultural scene, but its potential faces countless material and symbolic obstacles. The lack of intersectoral partnerships and the insufficient visibility of art, in particular, prevent culture from having a significant impact on economic and social development and from fully playing its role in promoting social cohesion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mbuji-Mayi Music Project<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Following a call for applications<\/a> for a music project in Mbuji-Mayi, 10 young singers were selected for a series of managerial and artistic modules<\/strong> with the aim of production of a collective album<\/strong>The project thus aims to strengthen music professionals, promote synergies and structure the musical ecosystem of Kasai.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The music project has started on July 10<\/a>The singers passed auditions and the selected candidates began their first training module in August 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Support course for cultural operators<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Following a call for expressions of interest launched in October 2024, 15 cultural operators from Kinshasa, Kisangani and Lubumbashi were selected for a cultural management support program. They are undergoing a series of training courses to strengthen the skills of their organizations in various key areas for the cultural and creative industries, such as cultural administration, intellectual property, resource mobilization, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
